Steve Falcioni is a busy writer and horticulturist with a serious plant addiction! He’s the Horticultural Editor for ABC Organic Gardener magazine and a regular writer for ABC Gardening Australia magazine. Over the years he’s also contributed many articles to other magazines including Hort Journal Australia, Your Garden, Better Homes & Gardens and more.

Steve Falcioni was raised in country New South Wales but moved to Sydney to earn a Bachelor of Economics. After several years working in the serious world of finance he managed to escape and return to his childhood passion: plants. Steve retrained as a horticulturist and has since spent over 25 years working in the delightful world of plants. His horticultural career has stretched across the globe covering UK, Canada and Australia in many different roles including: gardener, landscaper, nurseryman, writer, photographer, community gardener, public speaker, radio guest and organic gardening advocate.

For several years Steve has been an assessor at the East Coast Rose Trial Gardens, located on the western fringe of Sydney. It’s a role he loves as it gives him a sneak peek into newly bred roses and how they perform in Sydney’s humid summers.

Each year Steve Falcioni leads garden tours around the world exploring beautiful gardens and sharing his love of plants. Learn more about his upcoming tours here.

Steve is also working away at his first murder mystery novel, with a gardening theme of course! The first draft is done and he’s now in the thick of editing. To keep in touch with Steve’s book progress and all his plant adventures sign up to his newsletter here.
